Warranties

At Anderson Computer Service we believe that a warranty is an important component of your repair.  Warranties vary.  Below, we identify general information about our repair warranties and those of parts manufacturers.  Please ask your technician for specific warranty information about any repair.

Anderson Computer Service warranties their labor for 30 days.  If a part is necessary for repair Anderson Computer Service will order the part or will retrieve the part from a local vendor.  Most manufacturers warranty their parts for one year.  However, where the part is installed by anyone other than a trained technician, the warranty coverage may be voided.  In the event your installed part fails, and was installed by our factory trained technician, it is important that Anderson Computer Service be notified as quickly as possible, as many warranties are time sensitive.

While Anderson Computer Service is not a parts supplier or wholesaler, we endeavor to maintain an adequate stock of general parts.  In the event a particular part is not in stock we will purchase on your behalf the parts or software necessary for your repair.  We will explain to you the reseller's warranty before a purchase is made.  Once the item has been purchased and installed, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with the warranty.  In the event a part fails within the applicable warranty period, Anderson Computer Service will obtain a replacement part.  However, there may be fees (i.e., restocking, shipping, handling, etc.) imposed by the reseller or manufacturer to obtain warranty service.  You may be responsible for payment of those fees.  In every case, we will notify you in the event of any such fees and obtain your approval before ordering a replacement item or performing any warranty related services.

If any new hardware item that we purchased and installed fails within 30 days of purchase, contact us immediately so we can install the replacement part.  Anderson Computer Service will waive our regular labor charge for installation of the replacement part.  Should the part fail after 30 days but within one year of purchase we will invoice you only for actual labor time spent replacing the part.

Service for rebuilt, used, and customer-supplied parts failures, or for parts failures after one year from the original service date, will be invoiced at our usual and customary hourly labor rate.

Anderson Computer Service purchases new parts unless you ask us to use rebuilt or used parts.  Anderson Computer Service installs customer provided hardware or software.  However, unless the part remains in the original, unopened packaging we cannot provide any warranty service.  Additionally, compatibility for customer supplied hardware or software cannot be guaranteed.  Anderson Computer Service recommends the customer purchase new parts to ensure adequate warranty coverage.
Furthermore, be certain the item you are going to purchase is compatible with your system.  Ask Anderson Computer Service if your part is compatible with your system.

Although we take great effort to save your data, unless customers specifically request our data backup service, each customer is responsible for backing up any and all data that is stored on their computers prior to being serviced.

Anderson Computer Service knows that warranties differ from manufacturer to manufacturer.  We aspire to provide our customers with the most cost effective means to perform your repair, and will suggest parts specific to your problem that carry a warranty that will best serve your interests.  Please ask your technician for specific warranty information about any repair.
